The spray from the fifty foot Cascade Waterfall in Mele, Vanuatu gently covered me with its soft, cool embrace. God’s kind presence that touches me invisibly, but makes a real difference in my life, feels a lot like that mist. Whenever I find myself in a shower of falling water, or the rejuvenating presence of the Spirit, I want to stay and soak it up.

My prayer response:

God, thank you for all the reminders of how close You are. May I rest in You more deeply and peacefully than ever before.

Biblical touchstones:

  • You, God, visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water… Psalm 65:9
  • Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb… Revelation 22:1
  • The words of the mouth are deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is a gushing stream. Proverbs 18:4

Invitation to prayer:
What prayers are emerging in your heart, mind, and body?
Pray them now.

  • Lovely falling water which enchants us. Perhaps we recall our baptisms where it fell over our heads.
