Paradox

Light and dark. Attraction and repulsion. Hope and despair. The sky embodies paradox. My heart longs to hold and express beauty that is as complex and creative–even wild.

My prayer response:

God Who Holds All Things Together, May I be more and more like You.

Biblical touchstones:

  • Stop and consider the wondrous works of God. Do you know how God…causes the lightning of his cloud to shine? Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of the one whose knowledge is perfect… Job 37:14-16
  • Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like God, for we will see God as God is. I John 3:2
  • He answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3 And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. Matthew 16:2

Invitation to prayer:
What prayers are emerging in your heart, mind, and body?
Pray them now.
