Remembering

Humans have and always will orient themselves by remembering the people, places, and events that have been important.

My prayer response:

Oh God, In my heart I create an altar on which I place before You my loving memory of those who have died. Thank You for the precious relationships that have given meaning to my life.

Biblical touchstones:

  •  The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they camped in Gilgal on the east border of Jericho. Those twelve stones, which they had taken out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in Gilgal, saying to the Israelites, “When your children ask their parents in time to come, ‘What do these stones mean?’ then you shall let your children know, ‘Israel crossed over the Jordan here on dry ground.’” Joshua 4:19-22
  • The memory of the righteous is a blessing. Proverbs 10:7

Invitation to prayer:
What prayers are emerging in your heart, mind, and body?
Pray them now.
