Change happens continually. The less I resist it, the more I appreciate its gifts.
My prayer response:
Reality, help me to grow in my acceptance of change as a normal part of life.
Biblical touchstones:
- God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. Psalm 46:1-3
- God changes times and seasons, deposes kings and sets up kings; God gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. Daniel 2:21
- Jesus took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. And while Jesus was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became dazzling white. Luke 9:28-29
