Creation: Plants and Trees

What fun it must have been to think up things that would begin as a seed, grow, and reproduce, as well as offer shelter, food, and inspiration.

My prayer response:

For the grace to imagine creatively, I pray.

Biblical touchstones:

God creating the plant kingdom

  • God said, “Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.” And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the third day. Genesis 1:11-13
  • Praise God…fruit trees and all cedars! Psalm 148:7,9
  • Anyone who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, Proverbs 27:18

Invitation to prayer:

Position your body, hands and head first as God’s while creating the plant world.God creating plant lifeWhat prayers are emerging from your heart, mind, and body? Pray them now.
