The Animals Created by God (Day 6 of Creation at Chartres)

The choice is ours. Do we see similarities or differences? There is another choice. To focus on both.

My prayer response:

Creator, My heart is singing appreciation for the beauty of life in its many forms. Amen!

Biblical touchstones:

  • God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures of every kind: cattle and creeping things and wild animals of the earth of every kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:24-25
  • … the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1
  • How beautiful you are, my love, how very beautiful! Your eyes are doves behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats, moving down the slopes of Gilead. Song of Songs 4:1
  • Some take pride in chariots, and some in horses, but our pride is in the name of our God. Psalm 20:7

Invitation to prayer:

Make a face based on one of the animals.

Animals created by God

Now, notice how your emotions, thoughts, and senses are inspiring you to pray.
