Pilgrimage (Mont Saint Michel-2): Soaring and Remaining Grounded

Walking across the bay to Mont St. Michel with the island, abbey, and its spire in sight lifts my heart and faith. As my feet sink in the mud for the first time, or I’m called to cross water that is moving quickly and looks deeper than my waist, I learn more about the concrete nature of walking with God.

My prayer:

God of the past, present, and future, as I walk with you may my spirit soar while I remain grounded. Help me to hold in balance what is real and what is possible.

Biblical Touchstone:

Thus says God: Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it… Jeremiah 6:16

Invitation to Prayer:

Close your eyes. Imagine your spirit soaring with God. Next, feel your feet on the ground. Imagine walking beside Christ. What prayers are emerging in your mind, heart, body, and imagination? Pray them now.
