While looking at Notre Dame de la Belle Verrière, one can imagine her looking right back. I wonder what Mary’s eyes might say to me if we could meet face to face.
My Prayer:
Jesus, how did Your mother’s gaze influence you? May the same eyes of love that I share with my sons be seen by others.
Scriptural Touchstone:
See, everyone who uses proverbs will use this proverb about you, “Like mother, like daughter.” Ezekiel 16:44 (NRSV)
Invitation to Prayer:
Imagine that Mary is looking directly into your eyes. Receive her loving gaze. What prayers are emerging in your mind, heart, body, and imagination? Pray them now.
