How did Mary “mother” God? Perhaps she just tried to mother Jesus.
My Prayer:
God, for the wisdom to relate to others in ways that support their growth, I pray.
Scriptural Touchstone:
I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; my soul is like the weaned child that is with me. Psalm 131:2 (NRSV)
Invitation to Prayer:
In your mind, approach Mary and Jesus. Talk with them about their experience as mother and son. Feel free to ask any question that comes to mind or heart. Having done so, what prayers are emerging in your body, imagination, mind and heart? Pray them now.
