Visions of Mary: The Blue Virgin Window at Chartres

Where do your eyes go first when you look at this image? Look again, which face is drawing you?
Notre Dame de la Belle Verrière

Did you focus on Jesus or Mary? We are all conditioned to interpret reality. We can also learn to look at familiar sites and themes with fresh eyes.

My Prayer
God, You have given me a way to see with my eyes, mind, and emotions. Teach me to live by using all three as I register my first impression–and then seek new perspectives.

Scriptural Touchstone:
Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways made smooth… Luke 3:5 (NRSV) quoting Isaiah 40:4. The first two phrases are written in Latin on the tablet Jesus is holding.

Invitation to Pray:
God, I want to be able to take in more. Let’s work together to open my eyes, my mind, and my heart. Amen.

  • Big Congratulations, Dr. Jill!!!

I am praising God for your new work. I pray that God uses it for his glory. I also pray that it touches people’s hearts. I hope that you have been totally healed. I am happy to see your picture.

At the moment, I am studying various kinds of Western mysticisms. They are interesting. I always feel that I am discussing and learning from the saints, especially their relationship with God. I am still struggling but I pray and trust that, by God’s grace, my dissertation would be useful for the Church.

    Sincerely, Moe Moe

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. (2 Peter 1:2)
