SILENT GRIEF: VISIONS OF MARY (14)

Senseless death can, for a time, leave us speechless. We see Mary with a thumb pressed over her lips in this image of Jesus’s entombment.

There is a time when no words are adequate. There is a time for silence with all the doorways that it can open.

My prayer
I choose to be with You, O God, in silence.

Scriptural Touchstone:

For God alone my soul waits in silence. Psalm 62:5 NRSV

Invitation to Pray:
Make your presence known to Love. Spend time in silence together–at least five minutes, more if possible. If it would help, make the same gestures that you see Mary embodying as you pray.
