Presence

What does one thousand years of history taste like? Cool and fresh!

My prayer response:
God, to welcome history with my senses—to see it as blue, to hear its crashing union with water, to feel its cold—is to appreciate how connected life on our planet always has been and always will be. Thank you for this moment of presence.

Biblical touchstones:

  • Praise God…snow and frost… Psalm 148:7-8
  • From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the hoarfrost of heaven? The waters become hard like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. Job 38:29-30
  • For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
    Isaiah 50:10-11

Invitation to prayer:
What prayers are emerging from your heart, mind, and body?
Pray them now.
