Wednesday of Holy Week In Chartres (Remembered)

On Holy Wednesday the choir and ambulatory of the cathedral are reserved for personal reflection, prayer, and confession.

Now is the time to examine one’s heart.

Now is the time to connect with the heart of God.

My prayer

God who sees the suffering that is ahead and yet moves toward it with courage, help me today to understand more fully who I am, where I have failed You, and how I can follow You more faithfully, I pray.

Invitation to prayer

In your imagination, place yourself within the loving presence of God. While there, have an honest intellectual and emotional conversation together about your life.

If possible (and if you are courageous enough), find a trusted spiritual friend with whom you can share your thoughts, feelings, hopes, and prayer.
