Holy Week in Chartres (3): The Blessing of the Oils

Anointing with oil, one way of affirming the connection between humanity and the Divine during important moments, is an ancient practice. I want to appreciate every gift that God has given, including the gift of my body as a sacred vessel.

My Prayer:

For the gift of connecting with You with both my mind and my body, I am grateful.

Scriptural Touchstone: 

Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14 (NRSV)
