To come alive while resting securely on God’s broad lap, I can imagine nothing more full of comfort, care, and connection. No wonder Adam is resting his hand so trustingly on God’s knee.
My prayer:
Creator, in your loving hands I am completely at peace.
Biblical touchstones:
God formed man from the dust of the ground… Genesis 2:7
God, did you not speak at the beginning…and command the dust and it gave you Adam, a lifeless body? Yet he was the creation of your hands… 2 Esdras 3:4-5
For God knows how we were made; God remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:14
Invitation to prayer:
Would you like to position your body as God or Adam? Do so.
How are your emotions, thoughts, and senses inspiring you to pray?
